Press Forward Wyoming
The Wyoming Local News Fund (WLNF), home of the state’s Press Forward chapter, envisions a future where all Wyoming residents have access to the local news and information they need to thrive. The Fund supports trustworthy, equitable and solutions-focused projects and organizations that contribute to a vibrant media ecosystem. Launched in November 2023, the Wyoming Local News Fund is a fiscally sponsored project of the Wyoming Community Foundation.
Through trustworthy, equitable and solutions-focused projects and organizations, the Wyoming Local News Fund:
- Works at a local level to determine community information needs and current capacity;
- Supports and builds the capacity of existing news outlets;
- Educates and raises awareness across Wyoming about the importance of trustworthy, dependable and robust sources of local news and information.
Press Forward is a national initiative created to strengthen communities by supporting and reinvigorating local news. This campaign, led by the MacArthur Foundation, has raised more than $500 million to strengthen local newsrooms, close longstanding gaps in journalism coverage, advance public policy that expands access to local news and to scale the infrastructure the sector needs to thrive.
