Rachel Bailey Named Wyoming Community Foundation Director of Philanthropy

Laramie, Wyoming – The Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) and its Board of Directors announced Rachel Bailey as its new Director of Philanthropy. Rachel started her position at WYCF in June.

Originally from Wyoming, Bailey has a long record of nonprofit service which directly benefits communities. She most recently served as the Executive Director of Food Bank of Wyoming. Before that, she worked with the American Cancer Society and the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra. Earlier this year, she was selected as one of USA TODAY’s Women of the Year for Wyoming. This honor recognizes women who have made a significant impact in their state. Bailey’s work with nonprofits has always focused on community and connection, which made her the ideal candidate for this position.

Samin Dadelahi, President & CEO of the Wyoming Community Foundation, lauds Rachel’s extensive experience in philanthropic leadership. “Rachel’s track record of fostering impactful partnerships shines through her work with the Wyoming Symphony Orchestra and Food Bank of Wyoming,” Dadelahi remarks. Further emphasizing Rachel’s interpersonal skills, Dadelahi adds, “Having collaborated with Rachel for a decade, I am confident in her exceptional ability to cultivate trust and forge genuine connections with stakeholders. These qualities are pivotal for her success in leading our development team and directing WYCF’s philanthropic strategies in the coming years.”

Bailey has traveled and worked across the globe but looked for ways to get back to Wyoming and help. Her passion for building a better Wyoming and helping communities was demonstrated through her success in nonprofit work around the state. In her time as Executive Director of the food bank, Bailey increased the amount of food distributed throughout the state by 30% and grew the volunteer program by 33%.

“I returned to Wyoming 15 years ago because I wanted to be a part of a community and give back to the place that raised me and shaped my values,” says Bailey.  “In my nonprofit work, I am consistently amazed by Wyomingite’s generosity and desire to help their neighbors to create strong, vibrant communities. I look forward to working with both donors and nonprofit organizations across the state to grow sustainable funding for charitable organizations.”

For 35 years the Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) has connected people who care with causes that matter to build a better Wyoming. WYCF has granted more than $120 million to charitable causes while ensuring communities have the resources to thrive.
