Wyoming Community Foundation is Pleased to Welcome New Statewide Board Members
The Wyoming Community Foundation (WYCF) is excited to welcome three new board members who began their tenure on our statewide Board of Directors at the end of 2024. Please help us welcome them to WYCF by reading a little bit about them below.
Randy Bruns of Cheyenne, Matt Ebzery of Sheridan, and Brynn Hirschman of Laramie joined us in December of 2024 to attend their first board meeting. The WYCF volunteer board is comprised of thoughtful individuals who use their time, talent, and treasure to support Wyoming. Each and every one of them ensures your funds are being used in the best ways to see Wyoming communities thrive.

Meet the Board Members
Randy Bruns
“When we enjoy relatively comfortable lives, it can be easy to not see that isn’t always the case for everyone. But it is also true that seeing all the needs of others can be a bit overwhelming. Serving on The Wyoming Community Foundation Board is a window into the needs of citizens and organizations in our state. It also offers cause for optimism to witness the generosity of individuals, families and nonprofits and the foundation’s work to link resources to needs. I look forward to contributing in some small way to that effort. And I am grateful to have this cause for optimism.”
Randy grew up in Western Nebraska and after graduating from Doane University with a BA in Art and Education, Randy taught Art and coached football in Lincoln Nebraska, Puerto Rico and Wiesbaden, Germany. Upon returning to his hometown, he was a partner in Bruns Land and Cattle and was involved in state-wide education initiatives and was appointed by the Governor to the state board overseeing state lands and funds. Randy moved to Cheyenne in the late 1980’s to take a marketing position with Unicover World Trade Corporation where he was VP for International operations. Soon, Randy accepted a position with Cheyenne LEADS, the nonprofit economic development entity driving job creation, employment and capital investment for Cheyenne and Laramie County, where he was then CEO for 20 years.
Randy has served on multiple boards and commissions including the Nebraska Board of Educational Lands and Funds, the Chappell Nebraska school board, the Rocky Mountain District Export Council, the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra Board, the Wyoming Economic Development Association, the Leadership Wyoming Board, as well as other planning commissions and community nonprofits.
Matt Ebzery
Matt grew up in Sheridan, Wyoming, graduated from Sheridan High School and went on to obtain his Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from the University of Wyoming.
Matt began his career as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch in Phoenix, Arizona where he specialized in wealth management strategies for individuals, business owners, and nonprofit organizations to help them meet their short- and long-term financial goals. After establishing his client base at Merrill Lynch, Matt chose to move back to his hometown of Sheridan, Wyoming, citing a quality of life and family as the driving factors. Matt merged his practice with his father Bill, a practicing CPA and Financial Advisor, in 2008. Since that time, Cypress Capital Management, LLC has grown considerably and become a household name in Montana and Northern Wyoming.
Matt is personally involved with junior golf throughout Wyoming and the western United States, dedicated to growing and improving junior golf through volunteer service. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Junior America’s Cup Golf Tournament and the Wyoming State Golf Association. Matt enjoys spending time and traveling with his wife, Denise, and two children, Evelyn, and Mac.
Brynn Hirchsman
Brynn was raised in the rolling hills of Northeast Ohio with foxes as pets, playing the violin, training in karate, and showing horses at 4-H and local shows. Thanks to her parents, family vacations always included a trip out West to Wyoming. Her mother is a 1976 University of Wyoming alumnus. Brynn moved to Wyoming in 2013 and attended the UW herself, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Animal and Veterinary Sciences in 2018 and a Bachelor of Science in Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Management in 2020.
She has always been very passionate about volunteerism and collaboration. “I am honored to serve on the Wyoming Community Foundation Board and help build a stronger future for our communities. I have seen how local philanthropy can transform lives, and I believe it is crucial for our younger generations to get involved in causes that benefit our wonderful state.”
Brynn works for the State of Wyoming in the Office of Outdoor Recreation as the OREC Coordinator. The last four years she worked with the Southern half of the state facilitating public meetings and coordinating action items. Now, she oversees two grant programs managed by the Office of Outdoor Recreation. It has been a wild but incredibly fulfilling aspect of Brynn’s job, and something she never thought she would be involved in. She looks forward to helping with the implementation of the Wyoming Outdoor Recreation and Tourism Trust Fund in 2026.
In Brynn’s free time, she enjoys camping, hiking, skiing, and hunting with her partner and spending time with her family who recently moved to Wyoming.
We are excited to welcome Randy, Matt, and Brynn to the board and appreciate the expertise and passion they will contribute to our organization! See our full list of the Wyoming Community Foundation Statewide Board here.
