ALLEN L. KEENEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

About this scholarship 

Allen Keeney was a Rock Springs High School art teacher. He was very involved in the Rock Springs community. From 1971 until 1991, he was the director of the Community Fine Arts Center. During his tenure there, he played a central role in bringing theater and other fine arts to Sweetwater County, including ballet and symphony performances. He created this scholarship to help students facing financial need to pursue the study of art in higher education. 

First preference goes to those that wish to further their education in the study of art, but all areas of study are considered. 

Who is eligible? 

Any graduating senior of Rock Springs High School.

What is the amount of the scholarship? 

$500 

What is the length of the scholarship? 

1 year 

Scholarship recipients may re-apply for subsequent years.

Essay questions and additional materials: 

You will be asked to upload images of five artworks, and to provide contact details for two references.
