The Joint Revenue Committee heard testimony on September 23rd regarding adding a tax to services. The proposed legislation would have created a sales tax on services such as real estate, legal services, childcare and babysitting, salon and beauty services, building and construction, among many others which are not currently taxed under Wyoming law.
The proposed bill excluded health care, education, radio and television broadcasting, advertising, and “services that will be incorporated into the final product or service sold to the consumer.” Following testimony, the committee did not move or take further action on the bill.
